Mutton Soup

Mutton Soup is a simple, tasty and healthy dish. I often make this when i prepare mutton briyani. This is because, for mutton biriyani i pressure cook the mutton by adding some turmeric powder, ginger and garlic paste , salt, chilly powder and water. So i am planning to do the soup on the same day, i use to add more water, so that i can use the water for preparing the soup. Well, its always not neccessary to do it in this way........So here is the recipe for it.

Ingredients :

Mutton - 200 grms ( With bone )( Cleaned and chopped)
Fine coursed Black pepper - 1 tsp ( Or to taste)
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Chilly powder - 1/4 tsp
Coriander powder - 1/4 tsp
Onion - 1/2 ( Very finely chopped)
Tomatoes - 1/2
Curry Leaves - 10 numbers
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Slat - To taste
Ginger and garlic paste - 1 tsp
Oil - To fry

Preparation :

* First clean the chopped mutton ( The always preferable to have it with bones, which gives more taste)
*Add the chopped onion, tomatoes, chilly powder, coriander powder, Turmeric powder, little salt, and ginger &garlic paste, mutton and 5 - 6 cups of water. Mix together and pressure cook it. * Then take another vessel, add oil and fry the cumin seed and curry leaves.
*After frying the cumin seeds and curry leaves, transfer the pressure cooked items to this vessel.
* Add some more water, fine coarse black pepper, and salt and boil it for desire consistency.
* Allow it to boil for 5 - 7 mins.
Wow........the mutton soup is ready to be served.
Serve hot

Hi Anonymous, thanks for popping in. No it will not help in weight reduction, the reason because, nutton are rich in fat, which which we pressure cooker it with water , the fat is realsed and as because we use this water to prepare the soup, it has got fat in it. So personally i dont advice you to have it for weight reduction
